Sewing and princess castles

Beren went to a classmates 6th birthday party today. In keeping with my consumer challenge I made the gift. The little fella has some behavioural issues so I made a sensory type game that can be played many ways. All from my fabric stash. The bags are filled with different things. One has raw chickpeas and bells, another has raw lima beans and the other two have rice. They give a different feel in the hand. He can play at throwing the bags at the matching colour patch or in order of numbers or the right amount of bags according to the number. Comes complete in a bag with his initial.
Oh, and another parent asked me to make her one for payment too!

The other day we had a bit of a move around and clean out of the kids room. Beren decided he wanted bunks set up and so Nienna has taken advantage and created a castle. We decorated it with fabric and lace and she then created cardboard people and butterflies to hang from the ceiling. They have a great time in there and usually hang a blanket from the top bunk to create a cave.
