Frugal Friday -MYO

Make Your Own!!

Coming up to Christmas and I thought I would share some of the things we do each year.
The kids love it, I love it and I guarantee you that it will be the same in your household.
Make christmas decorations
Make christmas nibblies
Make christmas wrapping/bags
Use the op shop
Make your cards or better still don't send them!!  that's right, how about a quick phone call to say hi or email.  Save the paper, save the stamp and save the postage fuel miles.

Felt ornaments and gifts.  You can buy precut felt flowers but I like to make my own.  You certainly don't need dolly pegs but I had some in my stash.   I buy alot of craft supplies from Spiral Garden and also from a local steiner supply store in Hobart.  You also don't need to buy felt.  You can easily make decorations from scrap fabric in christmassy colours.

Paper craft is always a hit here.  These German stars make great Christmas ornaments and are fun to make.  You can do play and get kids to paint them or find coloured paper.  Old colourful shiny magazine pages make for great stars.  there is an easy to follow tutorial here for the stars.

Baking christmas treats, who doesn't love this!   We generally make shortbread, truffles, mini gingerbread men and last year we did baby christmas puddings.  Fun and yummy and they make great presents too!

So, what do you do for Christmas?  Will you be making something this year???

Share your ideas and grab my code from the side bar to put in your post.  Link back to here and join the linky list below so we can all read about your projects

Oh wow all that craftiness in one post. Love your ornaments (made some too this week)

And I love your German Stars. Haven't actually made any myself yet, so this is a great prompt to look at them again.

Thank you for linking up to Kids Get Crafty - great to see you there!
