Sunday in my City

We had a lot of rain in a very short time this week.  This saw over 20 major roads closed across the state, several towns and communities isolated and lots of flash flooding.
To help with the deluge they lowered the Trevallyn dam and let some water through.  This water comes all the way from The Great Lake system, through the northern midlands to the dam then down through Cataract Gorge and through Launceston, to eventually be free at the mouth of the river system in Georgetown.

I love this shot, I wasn't sure if the rainbow would come out or not.  The spray from the deluge of water was rising well above the trees and looked like smoke.  The powerful and magnificent mother earth at her best

This one of the windy paths through the Cataract Gorge

Not sure why?

This reminded me of a jigsaw puzzle, as does life

and finally, what is wrong with this picture??

The rainbow and jigsaw ones are really beautiful images. Wow! You can feel the force of the water surging its way to freedom...

We, like you, have been having torrential rains for the past two weeks, creating mayhem in northern California. All the beautiful flowering trees and Spring blossoms have floated away!

Your pictures are beautiful.

I love these pictures. To answer your question-- what's wrong with this picture-- it looks like there's an electrical outlet in the wilderness. Is there really?

I can nearly smell and hear the cataracts. Thanks!
