my garden

This is the mini orchard, there are five trees.  One is apple and one is peach but the others are unlabelled so it will be a surprise.

ah, my girl.  a really bad photo but I wanted to take the opportunity while it arose

The side garden, there are strawberries at the top section and I will put lettuce, tomatoes and corn in here too.

More strawberries, plus the ones in the white boxes I bought from our last place

trellis in the background has passion fruit vine around it, there is a lemon tree in the foreground and I am not sure what the tree in between is.

The front side garden as shown by Nienna

The succulent garden, I like this and will put more in over time.  I love succulents and collect them.

where else would you expect a pea plant other than along side a bulb under a yukka plant LOL

Herbs, with a good display of rosemary climbing the wall

and the piece de resistance!  I know, you all want one and are incredibly jealous!  A wishing well!

At home

Was rewarded with a stunning double rainbow yesterday, unfortunately my point and shoot doesn't really like long distance so the photo doesn't do it justice.

The kids decided they didn't want to share a room any more, this meant I lose my spare room :( Mind you it got a much needed sort and a lot of stuff has gone on ebay, 6 boxes of 'stuff' to the opshop and loads on freecycle.

The result is quite tidy. I bought two 2nd hand book shelves, the tall ones on each of the kids rooms and a tall boy chest for Beren's room as Nienna has the built ins. I got all three from a great charity shop here called Goods in Remission for $180.

That green sherpa blanket on Nienna's bed used to be mine when I was about 10yo. Before doona's were really in use in Australia LOL It went to boarding school with me for four years too.

The granny square quilt on Beren's bed is one I made when I was about 19 so nearly 24 years ago. I mended it recently and sewed in the ends.

Most of my stuff has been moved to tubs under my bed or on these shelves, plus one of the built in cupboards in Nienna's room was freed up so I put stuff in there too.

Been busy as usual

Have been plugging away at Lark for Beren. This is to be a hoody vest and he wants green trim. Beautiful wool I got from the Bendigo Wool Mills last month!
Also been doing some spring cleaning/sorting/tidying/taking advantage of children not being home LOL
I had originally had a corner for their drawing stuff etc but it was becoming a dumping ground for all toys and other crap so I have reclaimed the loungeroom.

I have converted their beds to bunks for more room, and bought some underbed storage boxes.
Rearranged their shelves so they can see and find everything and am bracing myself for the barrage of complaints that will no doubt ensue. I think I will tell them to put them in writing to management. :)

Emoh Ruo

A couple of shots of the new house. Top couple are kids room, then the lounge looking from the dining room, my stash (fabric and yarn, can't see all in the pic) and uni reference books, back yard and gorgeous sunsets from the back door. Some more pics to come as I have been getting some great op shop bargains too!
